- Computerised Maintenance Management System: software that centrally records work orders, failures, assets and maintenance history.Read more
- EAM
- Enterprise Asset Management: managing the full asset life cycle — broader than a CMMS, including planning, inventory and performance.Read more
- Preventief onderhoud
- Planned maintenance carried out before a failure, based on time, running hours or condition, to prevent breakdowns.Read more
- Correctief onderhoud
- Maintenance performed after a failure has occurred: repairing what is broken or no longer functional.Read more
- Conditiegebaseerd onderhoud (CBM)
- Maintenance based on the actual, measured condition of an asset. You act when an indicator crosses a threshold.Read more
- Predictief onderhoud
- Maintenance that predicts the expected failure moment from trends and models, so the intervention can be planned ahead.Read more
- P-F-curve
- A model describing an asset's decay, from detectable potential failure (P) to functional failure (F). The P-F interval sets the measurement frequency.Read more
- FMECA
- Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis: a method to systematically assess failure modes, their effects and their criticality.Read more
- RCM
- Reliability-Centered Maintenance: an approach that decides, per failure mode, which maintenance task is technically feasible and worthwhile.Read more
- OEE
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness: a single percentage combining availability, performance and quality to expose losses.Read more
- MTBF
- Mean Time Between Failures: the average running time between two failures. A measure of reliability.Read more
- MTTR
- Mean Time To Repair: the average time to resolve a failure, from report to working installation. A measure of recoverability.Read more
- Werkorder
- The recorded instruction to perform a task on an asset, with status, schedule, resources and history.Read more
- Werkvoorbereiding
- Getting a job ready to execute: arranging scope, materials, manpower, tools and permits in advance.Read more
- Storingsanalyse (RCA)
- Root cause analysis: systematically finding the underlying cause of a failure instead of treating the symptom.Read more
- Onderhouds-KPI
- A measurable indicator of maintenance performance, such as availability, MTBF, MTTR or maintenance cost per asset.Read more
- Draaiuren
- The time a machine actually runs. A basis for usage-based maintenance instead of calendar-based maintenance.Read more
- Spare parts
- Spare parts. Good spare parts management links stock to work orders, so a job does not stall on a missing component.Read more
- ISO 55000
- International standard series for asset management. Certification is against ISO 55001, the part with auditable requirements.Read more
- TPM
- Total Productive Maintenance: a philosophy in which operators, technicians and management jointly eliminate losses, measured with OEE.Read more
- LMRA & LOTO
- Safety layers in maintenance: the Last Minute Risk Analysis at the workplace and lockout-tagout to isolate energy sources.Read more
- Revisiestop
- A planned shutdown in which an installation is thoroughly inspected and overhauled. Preparation determines its length.Read more
